Dec 24, 2018Lloyd, 88 of 13647 Military Rd. Sackets Harbor will be at the Sackets Harbor United Presbyterian Church on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. There will be a get together at the Sackets Harbor American Legion beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Internment will be in the spring in Lakeside Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, December 21, 2018 from 4 - 6 p.m. at TLC Funeral Home, Inc. Mrs. Lloyd died at the Samaritan Medical Center on December 16, 2018. She was born on October 22, 1930 in Sackets Harbor, NY the daughter of Basil Ashley and E. Grace Joyce Van Camp. She graduated from Sackets Harbor Central School in 1948 as Salutatorian of her class. She also completed several courses at the Jeff/Lewis BOCES.She married William Lloyd on June 19, 1949 at the Sackets Harbor United Presbyterian Church with Rev. Louis Rose officiating. Mr. Lloyd died in December 2003.Mrs. Lloyd retired in 1999 from the Sackets Harbor Central School where she worked in the Principal’s office. She previously worked for NY Telephone Co., NY Air Brake, Wilna Motors and Chapin Watermatics. Mrs. Lloyd and her husband owned and operated Van Camp’s Garage in Sackets Harbor for many years. She also was the Town and County Tax Collector for the Town of Hounsfield from 1959 - 1977.She was very active in her community as a Sunday School Teacher, PTA President, Cub Scout Den Mother when her children were young, Chairman for the 1990 St. Bernard Club of America National Specialty, Chairman with her husband for the annual North County Kennel Club Sanctioned match held for many years at the Sackets Harbor Battlefield Park. She also enjoyed traveling, reading, theater and attending sports activities of her grandchildren. She was a member of the Sackets Harbor United Presbyterian Church.Mrs. Lloyd and her husband were well known for their breeding, training, and exhibiting of St. Bernard dogs throughout the Eastern United States and Canada.
